The Effects Of The Satir's Model Group Counseling On Career Development Planning Of Nursing Students

Objective:To explore the applicability and effectiveness of the Satir's Family Therapy Model group counseling on the career planning among the nursing students.Through the investigation to evaluate the nursing students' career planning level and the degree of cognition of career planning,and to construction of the career development planning group intervention program guided based on the Satir's Family Therapy Model and examine the effects of intervention.In order to improve the career planning level of nursing students for provide implementation approach,to provide a new perspective for the development of pre service education in high nursing universities.Methods:On the basis of informed consent,from February to April in 2016,the first grade students of nursing undergraduate in a Medical College were adopted open recruitment and interview as the study objects.According to the random number table method,74 nursing students who met the inclusion criteria were divided into the experimental group(n=35)and the control group(n=39).The experimental group was given to the Satir's Family Therapy Model Group Counseling for 8 weeks,once a week for 1 day(7 hours).There was no intervention in the control group,it was only given normal live and study during this time.Two groups were measured by college students' career planning questionnaire before and after the intervention.The data was input and analyzed by SPSS22.0 software.There was statistically significant with P<0.05 for the difference.Results:1.There were no statistically significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in gender,age,whether or not is the only child,parental occupation,family economic status,the relationship with parents affection,origin of student,high school students in liberal arts or science,whether is the first volunteer to apply for the professional or not,whether is the class cadre or not(P>0.05).2.Before the intervention,there were no statistically significant differences between the experimental group and the control group of nursing students in the occupational exploration,self-knowledge,goal planning,self promotion,interpersonal relationship,feedback correction and the total score of career planning(t followed by-0.050,-0.231,0.528,-1.579,0.759,-0.069,0.099,P>0.05).3.After the intervention,nursing students in the experimental group of the occupational exploration,self-knowledge,goal planning,self promotion,interpersonal relationship and the total score of career planning on the scale were statistically higher than those in the control group after the intervention(t followed by 2.583,-4.407,5.104,3.240,2.492,4.468,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the feedback correction dimension(t=1.723,P > 0.05).4.After the intervention,nursing students in the experimental group of the self-knowledge,goal planning and the total score of career planning on the scale were statistically higher than before(t followed by-2.659,-3.226,-2.849,P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the occupational exploration,self promotion,interpersonal relationship and feedback correction(t followed by-1.479,-1.576,-1.053,-1.901,P > 0.05).5.There were no significant differences in the occupational exploration,self-knowledge,goal planning,interpersonal relationship,feedback correction and the total score of career planning of the control group of nursing students between before and after the intervention(t followed by 1.006,1.724,0.206,0.527,0.048,1.256,P>0.05).The self promotion was statistically lower than before(t=3.682,P < 0.05).Conclusions:1.The Satir's Model Group Counseling can effectively improved the overall level of career planning of nursing students,especially in self promotion and goal planning two aspects.2.The construction of career planning program,which is based on the Satir's Model Group Counseling is effective,feasible and applicable.
