Study On The Effect Of Group Counseling On Career Planning Of Nursing Interns

ObjectivesTo explore the effect of group counseling on career planning of nursing interns,and to provide guidance for effective and feasible intervention programs in clinical nursing teaching.MethodsThis study used a quasi-experimental study.The research subjects were nursing students who worked as interns in a third-class first-class hospital in hunan province from march to April 2019.According to the strict inclusion and exclusion criteria,60 subjects were determined and included in the study.The patients were randomly divided into 30 cases in the control group and 30 cases in the experimental group.The control group received routine pre-job training,including hospital profile,nurse etiquette,nursing core system,professional ethics,nursing emergency treatment and career prospects and planning.In the experimental group,after the regular pre-job training,the group counseling for career planning was added,once a week,2 hours each time,a total of 6 times of training.After the training,career status evaluation scale and group counseling subjective evaluation questionnaire were used to evaluate the effect.The data of statistical analysis used SPSS 25.0 software,and the statistical description was mainly conducted with mean ± standard deviation.Chi-square test,independent sample t test and repeated measurementanova were used for statistical inference.The test standard was 0.05,and the difference between P < 0.05 was statistically significant.Results1 Between the two groups had no significant difference in gender,family location,professional level,professional volunteer,class cadre,first volunteer and other general information(P >0.05).2 Before intervention,the total score of career status in the experimental group was(78.77 ± 7.35),professional identity(26.87 ±3.98),career satisfaction(18.83 ± 3.50),organizational commitment(28.83±3.83),and retention intention(4.13±0.90).The total score of the control group was(78.77 ± 6.13),professional identity(26.79 ± 3.77),career satisfaction(18.83±2.90),organizational commitment(28.80±3.18),and retention intention(4.17±1.02).Between the two groups had no significant difference in the total score of career status and scores of each dimension(P >0.05).3 After the intervention 6 weeks and 3 months,the total score of career status in the experimental group was(90.40±10.72)and(94.67±10.14),professional identity was(31.13±4.86)and(32.40±4.85),career satisfaction was(21.67 ± 3.34)and(23.10 ± 2.88),organizational commitment was(32.90 ± 4.53)and(34.27 ± 4.36),and retention intention was(4.70 ± 0.70)and(4.90 ± 0.40).The total score of the control group was(78.83±7.12)and(78.57±6.43),professional identity(26.83±3.54)and(26.83±3.71),career satisfaction(19.00±3.39)and(18.97±3.08),organizational commitment(28.67±3.31)and(28.53±3.32),and retention intention(4.33 ± 0.99)and(4.23 ± 0.94).The changes of total score and dimensions of career planning in the two groups at different time points were detected by repeated measures of variance analysis.The results indicated that the status of career planning the experimental group did better than the control group at 6 weeks and 3months after intervention,with statistically significant differences(P <0.05).The time effect,intergroup effect and interaction between intergroup effect and time effect of career total score,career identity,career satisfaction,organizational commitment were statistically significant(P < 0.05).4 The 10 items in the evaluation of the group counseling activity of career planning in the experimental group were all scored 9.03,among which the score of satisfaction with the group counseling activity was9.37.Conclusions1 Group counseling can improve the career planning of nursing interns.2 Nursing interns are more satisfied with the group counseling activities of career planning.
