Objective: The main purpose of this study is to describe career planning current statusand its influence factors of the male nursing students.Methods: The descriptive statistics of non-experimental study was performed in thestudy.350male nursing students from1to4grade are stratified cluster conveniencesampled from three Medical College. The questionnaire includes three parts: generalinformation inventory, college nursing student personal career planning questionnaireand male nursing students career planning factors questionnaire. The general data wasdescribed by constituent ratio, frequency, mean and standard deviation. The singlefactor analysis of the career planning current status: the significance of the differencesbetween or among groups was tested by two indepent sample t test, one way ANOVA.The multiple factors were analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis.Results:①The career planning factors questionnaire for male nursing students internalconsistency analyses showed that the Cronbach’s a was0.884, Test-retest reliability was0.857, the factor analysis and correlations analysis confirmed the construct validity andcontent validity of the career planning of male nursing students questionnaire.②Thenursing students’ personal career planning includes five dimension. Total scores ofcareer planning were86.60±10.66, well level2.6%, generally well71.6%, bad level25.8%. Mean score of five dimensions of the male nursing students career planningare2.28~3.73Points.③Influence factors of male nursing students career planningincluded grade, family income, family economic level, college entrance examination,whether he participated in studying of career planning knowledge or not, the willing ofwhether to be engaged in the nursing work after the graduation, the satisfaction with theprofession of nursing career, age, personal factors, family factors, school factors, socialfactors, occupational environmental factors, occupational development factors.④Forming mu1t1p1e linear regression equation: influence factors of grade, the familyeconomic level, whether he participated in studying of career planning knowledge ornot, the satisfaction with the profession of nursing career, personal factors, familyfactors, school factors, occupational environmental factors, occupational developmentfactors.Conclusions:①The career planning factors questionnaire for male nursing studentshas good reliability and validity, it can be used as a valid tools for testing male nursingstudents career planning factors research.②Male nursing students the general status of career planning, the male nursing students mean score were low of direction detection.③In fluence factors of grade, the family economic level, whether he participated instudying of career planning knowledge or not, the satisfaction with the profession ofnursing career, personal factors, family factors, school factors, occupationalenvironmental factors, occupational development factors.④The results indicate malenursing students should know themselves according to the reality, understanding ofoccupation, and to improve their plans awareness. Nursing educators should payattention to these factors, actively carry out career planning guidance and education.Also suggest that nursing managers should pay attention to the rational use of malenurses, strive to improve their professional satisfaction, stability of their professionalideas, to reduce the loss of male nurses, and promote the development of nursing.
