The Application And Effect Evaluation Of QCC In Hospital Management

Medical quality is a key indicators to evaluate the level of hospital management.Continuously improving the medical quality level is an eternal theme for hospital management,which is an eternal power of the hospital's comprehensive development,and continuously improvement.Using scientific and effective management tools for medical quality management,it's the key of promoting medical quality and improving management level.QCC is one of many ways to improve health care quality management,and it is an important tool of total quality management(TQM).It is through selected topics,scheduling activities,set goals,proposed strategies,implement strategies,checking and rectification,effect confirmation,standardization,further review and improvement to gradually improve the staff's thinking ability to analyze and problem-solving ability,and further improve the quality of work.To improve the management model and quality,we have set up “QCC”in the departments of the third affiliated hospital of Nanchang university,and have investigated some of the departments for QCC activities dramatically.According to the actual design to implement the ophthalmology department QCC program,emergency department QCC program,pharmacydepartment QCC program and finance department QCC program.These departments have achieved a significant improvement after implementing QCC,including department model's management and work efficient of staff.(1)For ophthalmology department,improvements in preoperative complete rates were 95.24%.there were significantly reductions in patients' infectionrate,p<0.01;(2)Analyses of the tangible achievements of emergency department QCC program revealed that the achievement indices for reductions in unqualified samples,reductions inrepeated inspection,reductions inno specimens,reductions in no label and reductions inreceiving materials from two warehouse were 74.49%?60.00%?87.50%?100.00% and 62.50%,respectively;(3)For pharmacy department,the reductions in total error events were completely out of our established goals in 60.12%;(4)For finance department,there were significantly improvements in invoice handling.In addition,through QCC management,these departments have achieved intangible achievements,most of QCC members showed an activity growth value of more than 2 points.These activities provide an excellent basis for application of hospital quality management.As a result,QCCactivity showed prominent results in fostering long-lasting improvement in the quality of medical institutions interms of both tangible and intangible factors.Therefore,QCC can be used as an effective tool to improve medicalquality.
