Observation On The Clinical Effect Of Acupuncture Treatment Of Postpartum Depression

Objective:To explore a safer and more effective clinical means targeting postpartum depression and alleviating the patients' suffering through acupuncture treatment.Methods:Randomly divided a total of 60 postpartum depression patients into treatment group and control group via table of random number,30 cases in each group.The treatment group was given acupuncture treatment selecting acupoints such as Baihui(GV20),Qinggan Acea and the control group was given psychological counseling.The treatment group received acupuncture treatment once a day,30 minutes each time.Had one day off after continually receiving treatment for 6 days.Totally,the treatment group received 4 such courses.The control group received psychological counseling from established specialists,4 times one weak,and one hour each time.Hare comparison with both the two groups' score of Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale(EPDS),Zung's Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)finished before and 4 week s after treatment.Results:1.Both the two group's EPDS score showed obvious improvement 4 weeks after receiving treatment.(P<0.05)2.Both the two group's SAS score showed obvious improvement 4 weeks after receiving treatment.(P<0.05)3.Both the two group's SDS score showed obvious improvement 4 weeks after receiving treatment.(P<0.05)4.Compared with the control group,the treatment group gets more significant change of depressive state.Conclusion:1.Acupuncture treatment could alleviate the symptoms of postpartum depression.And acupuncture is a therapy with easy operation and less side effect.2.Psychological counseling could alleviate the symptoms of postpartum depression.lt is an acknowledged good method treating postpartum depression.3.The curative of acupuncture is better than psychological counseling in the treating of postpartum depression.Both of the two have some curative affect to postpartum depression.
