Clinical Research On Acupoint Catgut Embedding Therapy For Lumbar Disc Herniation Of Foot-Taiyang Meridian

Objective:Observing the clinical efficacy of catgut embedding therapy and conventional acupuncture therapy in the treatment of LDH of Foot-Taiyang meridian and objectively evaluate the differences in the efficacy of two different acupuncture methods;Observing the recent and distant clinical efficacies of catgut embedding therapy in the treatment of LDH of Foot-Taiyang meridian and making objective evaluations.Methods:There were 60 cases meeting the inclusion criteria,according to the random number table,they were randomly divided into observation group(catgut embedding therapy group)and control group(conventional acupuncture group),30 cases in each group.Observation group was treated with catgut embedding therapy,two groups of acupoints alternate treatment,once a week,two weeks in a course of treatment,treated two courses in total;control group was treated with conventional acupuncture and treated three times a week,two weeks in a course of treatment,treated two courses in total;After the treatment,comparing the two groups of patients with pain visual analogue scale(VAS),the Japanese orthopaedic association(JOA)score of every item,JOA's comprehensive score,to respectively assess the clinical efficacities of these two groups after the treatment(recent curative effect)and one month after the treatment(distant curative effect),then to analyze the relevant datas with statistical methods.Results:(1)There were no statistically significant differences in the general information and pre-treatment evaluation parameters of the patients(P>0.05),which shows the two groups were comparable.(2)Comparison of JOA score'every item:(1)intra-group comparison:there was a significant difference between the two groups of patients before treatment and after the treatment were compared(P<0.05);Before the treatment and one month after the treatment,the difference of observation group had statistical significance(P<0.05),there was no statistically significant difference in the control group(P>0.05).After the treatment and one month after the treatment,there was no statistical significance differen-ce in the observation group(P>0.05),the difference of control group had statistical significance(P<0.05).(2)comparison between the two groups:After the treatment betweenthe two groups,observation group'JOA score of lumbago,leg pain and numbness,walk,daily activity has significant difference(P<0.05),Two groups' JOA score of the straight leg-raising test,feel,strength had no statistical significance(P>0.05);There was a significant difference between the two groups of patients after one month of the treatment were compared(P<0.05).(3)Comparison of comprehensive JOA score:(1)intra-group comparison:there was a significant difference between the two groups of patients before the treatment and after the teratment were compared(P<0.05);Before the treatment and one month after the treatment,the difference of observation group had no statistical significance(P>0.05),there was statistically significant difference in the control group(P<0.05).After the treatment and one month after the treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in the observation group(P>0.05),the difference of control group had statistical significance(P<0.05).(2)comparisons between these two groups:the difference of the two groups had statistical significance after the treatment and after one month of the treatment(P<0.05).(4)Comparison of the VAS score:(1)intra-group comparison:there was a significant difference between the two groups of patients before the treatment and after the treatment were compared(P<0.05);Before the treatment and one month after the treatment,the difference of observation group has statistically significance(P<0.05),there was no statistically significant difference in the control group(P>0.05).After the treatment and one month after the treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in the observation group(P>0.05),the difference of control group has statistical signifi-cance(P<0.05).(2)Comparis on between the two groups:there was no statistically significant difference between these two ways after treatment(P>0.05).there was statistically significant difference between the two ways after the treatment and one month after after the treattment(P<0.05).(5)Comparison of the comprehensive curative effect:there was statistically significant difference between these two ways after the treatment and one month after the treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion: The research shown that catgut embedding therapy and conventional acupuncture therapy had no difference in improving patients' straight leg-raising test,sense,myodynamia in the nearfuture,but catgut embedding therapy exceeded conventional acupuncture in recent clinical efficacy of the waist pain,lower limb pain and numbness,walk,daily activities.Both catgut embedding therapy and conventional acupuncture therapy had effect to treat LDH of the Foot-Taiyang meridian,they also could improve comprehensive symptoms,signs and daily activities,but catgut embedding therapy's stability was obviously higher than that of conventional acupuncture,in other words,catgut embedding therapy was not easy to relapse,but conventional acupuncture easily recur in the long term.The catgut embedding therapy and conventional acupunctture therapy curing the overall pain of the lumbar disc herniation had no difference between the two treatments in recent term,but catgut embedding therapy was superior to conventional acupuncture in long term.The catgut embedding therapy was better on comprehensive curative effect,to treat lumbar disc herniation.
