Objective:1. To review the literature on TCM inheritance and innovation of the diagnosis and treatment of asthma in remission, and the clinical research status and progress of external therapy of traditional Chinese Medicine on treatment of asthma in remission.2. The main outcome were measured by observing the changes in asthma remission stage before and after treatment in the children group, and the changes in asthma remission stage between the children group and the adult group. In order to objectively evaluate the clinical efficacy, advantages and feasibility of acupoint application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in treatment of children’s asthma in remission stage, which will provide effective guidance for the treatment of children with asthma in remission stage.Methods:Clinical study on 30 cases of children with asthma in remission stage, as the treatment group, and set another 30 cases of adult asthma in remission stage as the control group. The two groups were both treated with acupoint application of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Six months for a course of treatment, the two groups were both received a course of treatment, followed up the second course of treatment. To observe the changes of primary and secondary efficacy in children before and after treatment, the data is analyzed by SPSS20.0 statistical analysis software.Results:The difference of the changes of the primary symptoms and secondary symptoms of the two groups before and after treatment was statistically significant (P<0.05). Before and after treatment, the primary symptoms of the number of asthma. attacks and respiratory infections were reduced, and for the secondary symptoms, such as nasal itching, sneezing, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath, sweating, pale, spiritual, fatigue, loss of appetite, tongue were improved, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The efficacy of the treatment group was better than the control group. Acupoint application of Traditional Chinese Medicine can significantly control asthma attacks and improve asthma symptoms in children in the stage of remission.Conclusion:The clinical studies have shown that acupoint application of Traditional Chinese Medicine is an feasible and effective method for treating children with asthma in remission stage. It can significantly reduce the number of asthma attacks and respiratory infections in children, and can improve the clinical syndromes of asthma in remission stage. For the aspects of the control and efficiency rate, the treatment group is better than the control group. Moreover, acupoint application of Traditional Chinese Medicine was safe in clinic. It is worth popularizing and applying acupoint application in Pediatrics of TCM in clinic.
