| Objective:1.Observing clinical effects of catgut implantation at acupoint on Uveitis patients;2.Therapeutic effect of catgut implantation at acupoint on rats with experimental autoimmune uveitis(EAU).Methods:1.(a)Divide 40 patients with uveitis into 2 groups randomly(Group A is under the treatment of Catgut implantation at acupoint combined with Western medicine hormone,while Group B is under pure western hormone treatment),patients in Group will be embedded catgut for once every 15 days,a course of treatment includes six times of Catgut implantation at acupoint.(b)Observe and analyze the general conditions and pathological varieties of Uveitis patients;check signs of change in visual acuity and positive signs of eyes shown by patients in Group A and Group B before and after the treatment;observe physical types and distribution tendency of Uveitis patients,as well as the relationship between the constitution of traditional Chinese medicine and Uveitis clinical and pathological classification.(c)Compare constitution variation trends of Group A and Group B;record changes in quality of life after treatment of Group A and Group B;count the timing and frequency of recurrence during and after the treatment of patients in Group A2.48 liwes rat,Randomly divided into control group,model group,treatment group with 16 rats,Control and treatment groups were immunized by IRBP?CFA?TB.The treatment group in second days after immunie by catgut implantation,All groups was collected blood and Isolated lymphocyte after 9,13,18,23 days,and then analyzed by flow cytometry.Futher inflammation symptom was observed and confirmed by histopathologic examination in eye.Results:1.(a)Vision: a comparative analysis on Group A and B before and after treatment of vision shows that the average improved vision value of patients in group A is both 0.35 ± 0.15,and that of Group B is 0.25 ± 0.16;While putting the improvement of visual acuity situation of the two groups for independent samples t-test,t=2.14,?= 0.05,p=0.04 ? 0.05.The difference possesses a statistically significance,which proves that improvement of visual acuity value of Group A with catgut is greater than Group B.(b)Quality of life:satisfaction degree on quality of life before and after treatment presents an average increase of 37.5 ± 14.24 in Group A,while the figures are 13.8 ±22.70 in Group B,t=3.94,? = 0.05,p=0.00?0.05,and the difference is of statistical significance.It can be considered that patients in Group A with acupoint catgut embedding therapy have a higher satisfaction degree with efficacy evaluation than Group B with quality of life.(c)Traditional Chinese medicine constitution: physical condition has been obviously changed among patients in Group A with Uveitis who are in gentle,damp,deficient of yang,phlegm-dampness constitutions.After the treatment,Group B shows an obvious rise in the proportion of patients with symptoms of damp-heat and yang deficiency quality of TCM constitution,and meanwhile patients with gentle quality are also affected with symptoms of biased quality showing up;the difference of curative effects between the two groups is p=0.005<0.05,which shows that the treatment of Group A is more effective than Group B.(d)Positive signs: there is no obvious difference in clinical symptoms between Uveitis patients in both groups during the first-time consultancy,but after the treatment,positive signs shown by those relapsing Uveitis patients who have embedded Catgut implantation at acupoint are obviously less severe than that by pure Western treatment;and Group A has a lower recurrence rate than Group B.2.Uveitis inflammation was observed on day 6 or 7 and the severity peaked on day13 post immunization(Clinical mean score:EAU group3.42±0.58,Catgut group 2.17±0.68,)and there was statistically significant differences(P=0.000).After then the inflammation gradually subsided.Meanwhile,the morphologic change of organizational structure of iris and ciliany also showed significant differences between EAU group and catgut group on days 9,13,18,23.But there is no inflammatory cells with the iris and ciliany body on control group.The flow cytometry shows that CD4 T was the highest in T cells on day 13.EAU group: 85.97±1.03,catgut group:79.51±0.64;CD8 T was the lowest in T cells on day 13..EAU group:14.03±1.03,catgut group: 20.49±0.64,and there was statistically significant differences(p=0.000)Conclusions:1.(a)By comparing two different sets of treatment on uveitis in Group A and B,it can be found that catgut implantation at acupoint presents better treatment effects in such aspects as the improvement of visual acuity,quality of life,disease recurrence rate,and constitutions of TCM than Group B without embedding catgut.(b)It also demonstrates that catgut implantation at acupoint can play an effective role in certain aspects of the the treatment onuveitis in epidemiology.2.the morphologic change of organizational structure on eye,the flow cytometry,the histopathology show that there has a certain therapeutic effect of catgut implantation at acupoint on rats with experimental autoimmune uveitis. |
