Acute pancreatitis refers to inflammation of the exocrine pancreas.Canine acute pancreatitis has a high fatality rate and clinical symptoms vary from mild dehydration, vomiting to shock, bleeding and death. Therefore,it is necessary to confirm the diagnosis through various laboratory tests. For the treatment of acute pancreatitis, ulinastatin is only used in Asia,Europe and the United States have not yet seen the clinical study of the drug in acute pancreatitis. Also, the efficacy of ulinastatin in canine acute pancreatitis has not been studied in detail. This article aims to verify the effectiveness of ulinastatin in the clinical treatment of canine acute pancreatitis. From July 2017 to January 2018,the author participated in the treatment of 40 cases of canine acute pancreatitis during the practice of an animal hospital in Wuhan.According to the owners' economic conditions, these 40 cases were treated with two different treatments with the consent of the owners. One was conventional therapy method and the other was to add ulinastatin based on the conventional therapy. There were 12 cases in the conventional therapy group and 28 cases in the ulinastatin group. In the course of treatment, differences in the main clinical symptoms, blood routine, biochemical indicators and cure days of the two groups of dogs were analyzed. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the main clinical symptoms, blood routine and blood biochemical indicators between the ulinastatin group and the conventional therapy group(P>0.05)before treatment. After 5 days of treatment,AMY in the ulinastatin group was significantly lower than that in the conventional therapy group(P<0.05),while there were no significant differences in the remaining blood routine and blood biochemical indicators(P>0.05).In the cure time, the average was 6.11±1.37 days in the ulinastatin group and 15.58±2.43 days in the conventional therapy group, the cure time of the ulinastatin group was significantly shorter than the conventional therapy group(P<0.05).The above results showed that ulinastatin has a certain effect on the treatment of canine acute pancreatitis and can significantly shorten the treatment time.
