Ten years ago,along with the rapid development of China’s economic,people`s material living standards and consumption ability continued to improve.The commercial complex,a commercial building integrating shopping,entertainment,catering,and office functions,has become a popular commercial building in the city at the time with its diversified functional forms and novelty consumption patterns.Ten years later,this business model occupies the heart of cities and regions.A large number of homogenized forms of space stifle the city`s personality and characteristics.The large and improper city plaza reduces the vitality of the city.The surrounding traffic conditions increase the circulation pressure of the city.At the same time,with the sudden rise of the Internet economy and the replacement of the urban social structure,80 s and 90 s have become the backbone of today`s society.Their characteristics in life are fundamentally different from those in the past.Online shopping has become a habit of daily life.They pay more attention to the quality of life and the physical and mental comfort experience,and they have higher requirements on the convenience and diversity of life,as well as display of their own personality.This series of changes requires that the design of commercial complexes must be adjusted in terms of design ideas,so as to match the characteristics exhibited by people in the new production and life.Based on the background of the above studies,the author has conducted in-depth analysis of the characteristics of outstanding commercial complexes at home and abroad and the lives of urban citizens in modern cities,discovering the exterior public space of commercial complex has a unique space charm.First of all,its impact on people`s lives in space is most direct to people.Second,through the urbanity of external public space,it can directly improve the image of the city and stimulate the vitality of the city.From this point,urban design is the starting point of research.First,through the methods of literature research,field research,and comparative analysis,it explained the concepts and meanings of urban public space,commercial complex external public space,and “urbanity”.Second,it analyzes the urban design of external public space from the perspective of macro-urban functions and urban space combined with cases.Afterwards,it explored the specific design method of the external space from the microscopic point of view.Finally,the urban design principles and methods of its external public space are analyzed through the form of induction and summary,and confirmed by an actual design case.In general,this paper is to take the characteristics reflected in people’s production and life as the starting point of their external space design,fundamentally seized the direction of development of commercial complexes,Thinking in a New Way of from the Perspective of Macroscopic Urban Design and Relatively Microcosmic Spatial Design in order to bring new ideas and methods for the design of the commercial complex external space.
