A Study On Planning And Design Of Parks Basing On Time Dimension And Users' Activities

With the society in city evolving,Urban public space,its environment quality requirements are also getting stricter to be met.As a very important kind of public space,parks' design should also follow this trend to achieve improvements.However,due to physical environment design is often less concerned about the impact from time,some certain crowds and their needs during certain periods are usually ignored.Nowadays,night life is so diverse and "24-hour society" concept is so trending to develop,how to meet the needs of users' activities in different time by design is the core theme to be discussed in this paper.Paper takes the relationship between time,human behavior and physical environment as the starting point,combining with theories of physical environment design,environmental psychology and other relevant fields,to find patterns of users' behavior in the time dimension under certain physical park environment,then summarizes shortcomings and advantages of the parks from function and physical environment aspect,and eventually come up with suggestions.Behavior Mapping Method and Pedestrian Counting Method etc.are introduced to obtain users and their activities data.The main structure of this paper is divided into three parts,the first part includes Chapter 1,Chapter 2 and Chapter 3: Chapter 1 is an introduction part.This part puts forward the research background,purpose and significance of the paper,and summarizes the important viewpoints and development of relevant researches in the form of literature review.At the end of this part,Chapter 1 states the innovation of the paper.Chapter 2 clarifies the research objectives of the paper and main problems to focus.Base on that,Chapter 2 then introduces the relevant theories and methods of physical environment design and human behavior,stating specific analysis methods and technical routes that paper uses.Chapter 3 is a transition part,which demonstrates the relevance of human behavior and time by big data analysis and field pre-research in order to highlight the value of this study of parks.The second part is Chapter 4: the three sections of the chapter discuss three parks-Lixiang Park,Wenxin Park and Sihai Park-separately.Discussions focus on utilization strength and human behavior under certain physical environment and different time.The third part includes Chapters 5 and 6: Chapter 5 is based on the analysis of Chapter 4 and the three parks are compared side by side.Function issues are summarized from physical environment analysis and utilization strength analysis of different time.Physical environment design issues are summarized from geographic and spatial patterns of human activities and behaviors.Suggestions and strategies are offered as references.Chapter 6 further draws the conclusion of the paper and make a prospect for future research.
