An Analysis Of The Causes Of Pavement Disease And Maintenance Measures In Liaoning Section Of Beijing-Harbin Highway

With the rapid development of economy,the mileage of highway in our country is increasing at a high pace.With the rapid increase of traffic volume,the asphalt pavement experiences more severe loading conditions and the pavement diseases are also more severe.It is an urgent task to carry out scientific and effective maintenance and to ensure safe,efficient and high-quality maintenance.In addition,it is important to reduce the maintenance costs.To provide a reliable engineering example for future projects,the maintenance project Jingha Highway of Liaoning section will be introduced in this study as following:(1)On-site inspection and data summary of the project,of which rutting is the main damage type with some pavement damage and raveling.The cause of rutting,pavement cracking and raveling was analyzed.(2)According to the existing pavement performance evaluation model,five aspects of the pavement damage were evaluated and calculated,including pavement damage,pavement smoothness,pavement rutting,pavement skidding resistance and pavement structural strength.And the model was used to evaluate the pavement performance.(3)Based on the decision making for maintenance in Liaoling province,three maintenance methods were evaluated in terms of costs and benefits by using the Liaoling section of Jingha express as an example.Method two was selected as the final maintenance approach due to its low costs and relatively good maintenance results.
