Technology Study On Standard Atlas Of Pavement Distress

In the using process of the pavement, the road performance will gradually deteriorate as it bears the effect of the traffic loads and environmental factors. Thus it needs us to give the pavement proper preventive maintenance treatment before the pavement not yet damaged or the road distress still not in the serious situation. And proper preventive maintenance treatment should be established on the basis of the objective,real and accurate understanding of the road condition. At present, the related standards of china gives the identification of the road distress only in the form of lists with simple text descriptions, lacking of the corresponding pictorial display, which has affected its practicability in a certain extent. The purpose of the research of"Technology Study on Standard Atlas of Pavement Distress"is to make up this insufficiency through the transformation of the abstract text descriptions to the specific graph standard which contains pictures and detailed literal definitions, enabling the investigators to have a more visual and accurate understanding of the road condition.In the point of standardize the description of the road condition, this project gives a systemic summary about the classification of the distress type,the corresponding distress grade,the mechanism and the reason of the distress, using the research findings and the experience about the distress of the asphalt pavement and the cement pavement from domestic and international for reference, analyzing and combining each kind of road distress and the standard graphical representation, transforming the abstract text descriptions to the visual,abundant definitions with pictures and detailed literal descriptions, defining the road distress type almost roundly, and it can instruct the road deterioration measurement better, making the result to be more accurate and precise, providing a more accurate basis for the maintenance treatment.
