Research On The EPC Project Schedule Management Based On The Critical Chain

EPC model is one of the world's more advanced project organization and implementation methods as the trends of construction in recent years.But affected by the old concept,management system,quality of staff,industry protection and other factors,it has the characteristics of unique,one-time,purpose,constraints as traditional construction project.Schedule management as one of the three objectives is the core of project management,playing a key role to the success of the project.However,rigid,one-sidedness and the inefficiencies of the general progress of the project management method can't meet the requirements of the EPC project schedule management.Key chain technology is developed on the basis of the theory of constraints.It not only takes into account the duration of process and the constraint relationships between processes,but also considers the resource conflict between processes,emphasizing the dynamic management and continuous improvement.Application and development of critical chain technology,propose effective ideas to solve the EPC project schedule management problems.Taking EPC project management schedule for the study,using P6(Primavera 6.0)project management software,the application of critical chain technologies to the EPC schedule management,Established EPC project management model based on the progress of critical chain technology.Combine with the task estimated of critical chain to eliminate the safety time,based on the theory of constraints.Use optimistic time as the reference time to develop the schedule.According to the project resource requirements planning,look for the key chain to consider resource conflicts.When setting the buffer,from the task duration,resource requirements strength,the number of positions right and uncertainty factor calculated on the buffer.Applied meticulous management of ideas to management and control the buffer.Finally,the EPC project management model based on the progress of critical chain technology is applied to a building project.By applying the model on an office building project,validated the critical chain technology can shorten the duration,provide a buffer for the project,resolve resource conflicts,reduce the impact of uncertainties,then improve the operability of schedule management,provide a reference for EPC Project Schedule Management.
