The range hoods which are considered as a representative of the kitchen electrical products,have been introduced into more and more famiiies and widely bought by consumers in recent years.However,the form and color of many range hoods in the market are seriously homogeneous and lack of beauty.In addition,most of the existing researches on the range hoods mainly analyze the internal structure optimization instead of the users' experience and design thinking.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to explore the aesthetic factors in household range hoods with the aesthetic design concept and fluid dynamics,analyze the influence of different hood shapes on the fume gas flow,so as to enhance the usability and aesthetics of household range hoods.This paper is divided into three parts.In the first part,the cognitive images of hoods are discussed with qualitative and quantitative method based on the theory of perceptual engneering,including the shape image and the color image,the representative cognitive images are extracted.The design reference model of the range hoods' characteristic is constructed by using the quantitative I theory through deconstructing the design element of the hoods.At the same time,the reasonable size ranges of household range hoods are analzed with the human factors methods,which guides the aesthetics design practice.In the second part,the fuzzy evaluation method and the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)are used to evaluate the two schemes in order to validate the rationality of two design schemes.In the third part,the flue gas flow of side suction and shallow range hood are contrastive ly analyzed.The suitable kitchen environment location for the two kinds of hoods is summarized,which provides a good direction for the optimization design of the range hoods.In this paper,qualitative and quantitative research methods are used to summarize the aesthetic design system of household range hoods,including aesthetic design principles,the establishment of design reference model,quantification of design evaluation and flow analysis of oil fume,which can be guided in enterprises to carry out the design of hoods significantly.
