In the modern car industry, the vehicle comfort has become one of the importance parameters of the vehicle performance evaluation. In the research of the vehicle comfort which were carried on before, the scholars mainly research the ride comfort and vibration comfort. A set of standard of evaluation method and index system are already built. But the research aiming at manipulation comfort is little. In this paper, the Research and evaluation of vehicle manipulation comfort are carried on base on the theory of Human Factors Engineering.In this paper, the concepts and meanings of the comfort and the manipulation comfort are elaborated firstly. Then, a human-machine system model of the vehicle manipulation is built and the factors which impact the vehicle manipulation comfort are carried on analysis based on human factors engineering. The impacting factors from the three aspects of human, machine and environment are mainly discussed. After that, an evaluation index system of the vehicle manipulation comfort is built(include the evaluation index, the evaluation method and the evaluation standard).Five parameters are selected for evaluation, including relative metabolism rate, impulse, the force extremum, the number of extreme points and slope . An evaluation is carried on with the method of by the method of fuzzy integration evaluation. Taking the evaluation system specified above as the core, a set of evaluation systems for manipulation force comfort is set up, which is reasonable, economical and general. The main tasks are aiming at the different manipulation objects, at the enactment of experiment condition, making use of a certain of collecting technique to gather the data of manipulation force and trip, and then processing and analyzing the data, carrying on comfort evaluation. Next, a repository of comfort evaluation standards is built. It can provide the standards for the design of different manipulation objects in the vehicle interior, in order to decrease the fatigue intensity of manipulation and improve the security and the comfort of the manipulation. At last, in the different driving conditions, some vehicle experiments are carried on. The results show this method can be effective for the measurement and evaluation of vehicle manipulation comfort.
