Due to the rapid development of medical and health industry, more and more hospital construction projects have been under implementation. But there are many problems, such as construction period postponing,in project planning and scheduling that is an important component of the project management in hospital construction project. In order to find the basic cause of the problem and solve such problems in project schedule management, first, this thesis analyses the characteristics of the hospital construction project and the present situation of schedule management;second,we optimize the process of the schedule management by using the critical chain theory, and set a buffer zone. When setting the buffer zone, many factors have been taken into account such as the characteristics of the hospital project, the complexity and importance of the process, the risk preference of the managers' and many uncertain factors. We not only use some methods such as fuzzy analytic hierarchy process method, expert interview method, fuzzy evaluation on the above factors to make quantitative analysis but also use the monte carlo simulating method to simulate the optimized schedule. The results show that the buffer zone can effectively reduce the influence on construction schedule. In the last, this thesis use the purification project of operating room and installation works in Xili hospital as a case to validate the process optimization. It shows that this model has some advantages in identifying the critical chain, the setting of buffer zone and the project schedule optimization, this model also provide some new methods for the complex project construction of hospitals.
