With the development in 3C(Computer Communication Control) technology, realization condition for moving automatic block is growing more and more mature. Different from other automatic blocks, moving automatic block sets the tail of the leading train as tracking target point and has short headway and high operation efficiency, and it has a huge impact on train tracking operation. The current train tracking control method pays more attention to the safety protection, so it can't meet high level control requirement. Hence, it is necessary to research on tracking control problem in depth combined with the condition of moving automatic block.Firstly, based on the introduction of the principle of moving automatic block, the train tracking operation is analyzed in detail. The defect is pointed out that the tracking control method is enough to protect the safety but its prediction is insufficient. And the defect may lead to unnecessary emergency brake. In order to verify the problem, different running environments are distinguished, and the space interval between the leading train and the following train is simulated and analyzed. Smulation results show that the tracking control under low speed running environment generally does not need to take emergency brake, but the tracking control under high speed running environment does have possibility to take unnecessary emergency brake.Then, aiming at the problem of unnecessary emergency brake in tracking control, the virtual distance is calculated by using the operation information and it is used to protect the safety. When the distance between trains is getting smaller and smaller, the virtual distance is smaller than the actual distance. Therefore, before the dangerous state when the actual distance can't satisfy the requirement of safety need braking distance, the following train runs into the emergency state when the virtual distance can't satisfy the requirement of safety need braking distance. Situations in which train runs into emgency and danger states are analyzed, and the adjustment method for working conditions in the emergency state point-in-time is determined combined with the train tracking operation characteristics. The validity of the virtual distance method to eliminate the unnecessary emergency brake is illustrated by simulation examples.Finally, tracking control that can only avoid unnecessary emergency brake is not able to meet the requirement, so it needs to be further optimized. The basic optimal idea is to use intelligent algorithms to solve optimization model and adjust the obtained tracking control scheme with the virtual distance method to eliminate unnecessary emergency brake. Basic particle swarm optimization algorithm is improved by isolated niche technique and works as solution algorithm. The train tracking control optimization model is established according to the tracking opeartion characteristics and operation indexes. Then the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is applied into the solution of the train tracking control optimization model, so the train tracking improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed. After tracking control optimization scheme is obtained, the virtual distance method is utilized to detect and adjust the control scheme. The adjusted tracking control scheme is not only taking all kinds of operation indexes into consideration but also can avoid the unnecessary emergency brake.
