With development of communication technology, control technology and computer technology, the train control system based on communication(CBTC:Communication Based Train Control)is becoming an important system in the urban rail transit, which is used to guarantee the train operation safety and improve the efficiency in the urban rail transit.Based on achievements of experts at home and abroad,in the paper, the function and structure of the train automatic protection subsystem(ATP: Automatic Train Protection)in CBTC and the process of trains running in sections and stations are analyzed in depth. In the end,the relative speed train tracking distance model is established. The simulation result shows that the model presented in this paper can further reduce the train-tracking distance and improve the transit efficiency under the premise of ensuring the train operation safety. The studying content includes:1.The functions and structure of the ATP subsystem in CBTC is analyzed by referring to the relevant standards of IEEE and the existing moving block system and three kinds of block systems are compared.2.Through analyzing the existing minimum train-tracking distance model which is used in practice, this paper points out that there is defect in the existing model and the minimum train-tracking distance can be further reduced.3.Taking into account the prior train's speed, the train-tracking process in sections and stations is analyzed, and the relative speed train-tracking distance model is established.4.Based on the model, the simulation algorithm is designed. In the algorithm, the combined step is used to calculate the train braking distance,at the same time the algorithm is described using the algorithm flow chart.5.Taking 5 stations and 4 sections as an example, the simulation algorithm is implemented by using C# computer programming language and the simulation is carried out.The simulation results show that the established relative speed tracking distance model is more efficient than the existing position train-tracking distance.
