The electric power industry has become one of the pillar industries, which has a direct impact on the rapid development of the national economy and social progress. With the vigorous development of the electric power industry, the power construction, especially the large-scale construction of the power grid, gradually meets the high standard requirements of people's life. As is known to all, power industry is a high investment and high risk sector, which has great influence on the development of country, society and people's living standards. However, due to the influence of traditional economic management system in our country, the evaluation of transmission and transfer power construction projects has not been taken attention to the state and power grid enterprises. With the rapid development of electric power construction, especially after a wide range of power shortage, the state gradually increases investment in the construction of power transmission project. Due to the characteristics of large investment and long construction period in power transmission project, the risk factors from various aspects are likely to happen.The research on risk management of power engineering project not only can reduce the occurrence of uncertainty, but also have the important significance to the enterprise's long-term development. It is necessary for power sector to make the comprehensive risk management in the different stages of the construction project because some uncertainty factors may be related to the enterprise's rise and fall. On the other hand, risk management can also reduce the loss of enterprises and increase revenues to a great extent, it can further turn the risk into profit of the enterprise. A risk research on projects in the power industry based on the scientific and systematic theory can carry out risk identification as far as possible in the project construction phase, prevent the occurrence of risk events, reduce the risk factors as far as possible, reduce the risk of loss by adopting pertinent measures, obtain the maximum profit in the electric power industry to a large extent, better meet the demands of economic development. Therefore, it is extremely important to strengthen the management level of the power transmission project in the process of power grid construction, especially the risk management. Meanwhile, how to effectively reduce the probability of the project risk, improve the economic benefits of the project has become increasingly important.We can effectively identify and evaluate risk by analyzing the risk factors for power transmission project and comparing with the practice in order to take effective measures to effectively reduce the possibility of the occurrence of risk, as far as possible to reduce the unnecessary loss of risk. This paper takes the power transmission and transformation project in Rongcheng for example to conduct risk analysis by adopting AHP and fuzzy synthetic evaluation method based on the actual situation of the power transmission and transformation project in Rongcheng, including the decision-making stage, implementation preparation stage, stage of construction process and operation stage, and puts forward specific risk coping strategies according to the actual situation of the project.
