Study Of The Nursing Home Architectural Design Based On Health Disparities Of The Elderly

As an important part of facilities system for the elderly,nursing home is so far the most traditional,inclusive and comprehensive institutions;With the rapid growth of the aging population in the new era,the amount of the facilities construction for the elderly ushered in rapid concentrated period.The mainly pension model in our country is family endowment.But the number of the elderly of advanced age,disabled,half-disabled is growing fast,which makes elderly fail to spend the rest time at home,thereby turns into target population of comprehensive nursing homes;However,A current survey shows that a large number of reconstruction and newly constructed facilities in nursing home did not show so much consideration on the overall layout and function space design to such elderly with special nursing need.At the same time,in the future there will be a large number of elderly transferring from self-care model to the nursing model,which will also put forward higher requirements for facilities for elders to meet space requirements for nursing elderly.The article studies behavioral characteristics and the corresponding space requirements of different health levels of elderly,hoping to make the different space design for different health levels of elderly to meet the space requirements for the nursing elderly,also expecting to make the self-care elders adapt themselves to the the space need of nursing elderly by extended design.The author compared elderly in different health levels by methods of literature research,spot investigation,case studies and others,analyzing the difference in bedroom,public space,care and auxiliary space and others,and proposing the targeted design points in the overall layout,functional space,and configuring devices,etc.Firstly,a summary is made on current research situation of domestic and foreign facilities for the elderly,then the different case types are compared,learning from the successful experience of the United States,Japan,and other developed countries in the construction of facilities for the elderly.Secondly,specific survey samples are selected to carry out a survey on nursing home facilities;The main survey content include two part,one is about the health conditions of the people who lived in the facilities,the other one is about the environment of architectural space;After that,the analysis about the health conditions of elderly in nursing home,current situation of the survey sample,and existing problem,are put foward.Then,the researcher distributed the questionnaire and carried out the follow-up survey for elderly in different health levels in the facilities.The investigation showes that different senior has the different behavioral characteristics and space-using style,basing on the different needs on space for elderly in different health levels.According to the survey above,it shows that the differences in the needs of the elderly.The researcher tried to present design elements for nursing home under the principle of the following aspects,space layout of nursing homes,living space of the elders,public space,care and auxiliary space,traffic moving line space,and detailed design of environment,etc.
