Architecture Design Of Nursing Home With Dementia

China is a country with the most largest Alzheimer’s patients in the world, but the pension needs of patients with Alzheimer’s disease has not attracted widespread attention. As the pathological characteristics of the patients, their need special architectural space compared with the ordinary peopl. But at present, the nursing home in our country are not very good to meet the demand of the aged patients with Alzheimer’s disease in the number and design, so the construction of has very important practical significance. This article is based on this background, discusses the basic strategy of architecture design about Alzheimer’s professional nursing home.First of all, through the literature research to grasp the current situation of the development of nursing homes with dementia in Europe and the United States and other developed countries, and summarized the prominent characteristics and experience, and reviews the related domestic nursing home construction standard design.Secondly, based on the analysis of Alzheimer’s physiological, psychological and behavioral characteristics, to explore the special demand of architectural space.Then, take Chongqing as an example, through telephone interviews to grasp the care of Alzheimer’s patients in nursing homes, and selection different levels in the urban pension field to research, summarizes the characteristics of location, indoor and outdoor environment, the basic plane, facilities and the medical environment. According to the research, the author summarizes some problems existing in the care of patients with Alzheimer’s disease in general nursing home: the location of the environment is too quiet, indoor and outdoor environment without considering the needs of elderly patients with dementia, not equipped with specialized rehabilitation room, barrier free design of elevator can not meet the needs of patients, can not to provide professional care and so on.Then, in view of the above problems, take the characteristics of the patient’s behavior to the requirements of building space as a standpoint in this paper,put forward corresponding strategies of architectural design from the planning, environment and architectural design, expecte to provide dementia nursing home construction suggestions in the future.Finally, to discuss the transformrd case, from a practical point of view to deliberate a model about the ordinary nursing homes were converted into nursing homes with dementia, and test whether the strategy of architecture design in this paper is feasible.
