Research On Nanjing ORPEA Nursing Home Design With Medical-Nursing Combined Model

With increasing aging population in China, changes in family structure and increased disabled elderly, single nursing model can not meet the rigid requirements of the present aging pressure any more. In the background of medical resources shortage and elderly facilities chaotic, "Medical-nursing combined model" which combined the nursing resources and medical resources has become the trend of contemporary nursing development. This paper is focused on one of the pattern of "Medical-nursing combined model"-"Medical-nursing combined nursing home". While relying on the "ORPEA" nursing home design, I participate in the actual project to explore the design strategies and methods in Medical-nursing combined nursing home.This paper firstly analyzed the background of aging society, summed up the necessity and feasibility of "Medical-nursing combined model"; Then explored the characteristics and advantages of the Medical-nursing combined nursing home, summarized the requirements in architectural design. Finally, based on the "ORPEA" nursing home project, this paper stated design strategies, methods and principles of Medical-nursing combined nursing home from the general layout design, functional configuration, spatial organization and facade design.
