Study On The Effectiveness Evaluation Of Traditional Village Protection In Suzhou

Traditional villages are not only symbols of world history and culture but also products of cultural evolution process,having bright regional culture characteristics.It can be said that formation of traditional villages is the second largest creation ranked only second to human language,which is the best witness of human civilization and collective memory of peo ple from generation to generation.Chinese traditional villages are essences of agriculture civilization and foundation of Chinese nation,possessing very high historical and cultural values,which are very important parts in Chinese cultural heritage protection.In recent years,China has paid much attention to protection of traditional villages.The Central Government has enacted a series of protection policies and regulations,and local government has also organized compiling and implementing protection plans of traditional villages and carried out other relevant protection work.However,so far,it has been lack of feedbacks to protection conditions.Therefore,the author focused on studies on protection implementation effects of traditional villages,discussing protection implementation assessment of traditional villages,with study subjects of traditional villages in Suzhou.Study contents in this paper are mainly protection implementation assessment of traditional villages in Suzhou,including selecti on of assessment indexes,system construction,and assessment methods.The author hoped to feed back village protection effects through building protection implementation assessment system,so as to promote sustainable development of traditional villages.Under the precondition of defining relevant concepts and doing up relevant studies,the author studied protection implementation of Suzhou traditional villages with the use of assessment theory.Firstly,the author acquired first hand information on protec tion conditions of Suzhou traditional villages through thorough investigation on traditional villages in Suzhou and analyzed basic characteristics and current situations of Suzhou traditional villages;secondly,the author proposed assessment frame of protection implementation,built index system for protection implementation assessment of Suzhou traditional villages,and confirmed index weight on the basis of analytic hierarchy process;finally,the author conducted empirical study with the example of Luxi ang Village,Dongshan Town,Suzhou,analyzed final assessment results,and offered proposals for subsequent protection.
