Study On The Environment Of Opera Activity In Jiangnan Private Gardens

Jiangnan private garden is important in the history of the development of traditional garden. Opera View activity Place, which has great relationship with social and cultural background, is a part that cannot be ignored. The construction of private garden provides the appropriate space to watch opera; conversely, various opera activities also enriches the cultural connotation and function of private garden.This paper systematically sorts out the development context and category of the opera in gardens. From a macro point of view, the paper takes two most representative cities——Suzhou and Yangzhou as examples, to explore the motivation of local gentry and merchants to build private garden and performing place. Also the paper does research on Rainbow Garden, Kang Shan Cottage, Di Garden, Xiaolinglong Hilly House in Yangzhou, and Tianping Hill, Lingering Garden, Surging Wave Pavilion, Fishing Master's Garden in Suzhou. From the microscopic point of view, the paper divides places of watching opera into four modes:terraces, pavilions, courtyards and halls; takes Lingering Garden, He Park, Xue Garden as cases to sum up the changes of private gardens to the demand of performing and watching opera.In the last, the paper summarizes the interaction between private garden and Opera iew activity Place from expression method, shaping technique, aesthetic pursuit, structure building and artistic conception.
