Of all the archipelagos in China,Zhoushan is the largest one.There are not only beautiful natural landscapes but also unique marine cultural tourist attractions,such as the world-famous "Buddhist Kingdom on the sea" Mount Putuo and fishery and salt culture,etc.What can be said is that the marine cultural tourism resources are rich in the connotation and unique in the characteristics,which brings unique advantages to develop the marine culture tourism.June 30,2011 is a special day for Zhoushan,on which Zhoushan Islands New District was officially approved by the State Council,which also means the establishment of the first national district with marine economy as the theme in China.For Zhoushan,establishment and development of the Zhoushan Islands New District is not only a new starting point but also a new challenge.With Its natural advantages of location,of government policy and of natural resources,ocean culture tourism industry in Zhoushan Islands New District shows a thriving trend and changes rapidly,gradually becoming a beautiful name card of tourism development in Zhoushan Islands.Based on the cultural tourism,marine culture and marine tourism,this article leads to the concept of ocean culture tourism,links it to the establishment of Zhoushan Islands New District and emphasizes on the word "new",aiming at finding a new path for the development of Zhoushan marine cultural tourism,which helps to bring new life and vitality to it.But there is no denying the fact that some problems restricting sustainable development of Zhoushan Islands New District marine culture tourism become more clear,including repeated construction of some projects at low level,disorder of market competition,lack in tourism products development,single product form,insufficient government supervision and so on.This article will put forward some feasible suggestions to try to solve these problems,such as exploring cultural connotation,developing unique tourism products,expanding the tourist market,increasing capital investment,strengthening the environmental and resource protection and so on,giving a hand to the development of marine culture tourism in Zhoushan Islands New District.
