Metacognitive theory was introduced in the late 1970 s, has become one of hot topics in the study of psychology, and has a certain influence on education practice.The essence of Metacognition is self consciousness and self regulation for cognitive activity, emphasizing study, self adjusting of subject in teaching, and it is helpful to stimulate students’ learning motivation and active learning. Metacognitive ability of the higher vocational students is made. There is great difference of individual, through designing the courses to strengthen the learning and training of the metacognition, that can make the higher vocational students’ metacognitive ability get rapid development and improvement.The cultivation of higher vocational students’ autonomous learning ability must be rooted in the knowledge and skills of study, skilled course occupies half in higher vocational education, is an important training method of forming students’ vocational ability.This topic attempts to combine the Taylor principle of curriculum design and "process model" to explore the pattern of skilled curriculum design.As the basis, the metacognitive theory starting from the types of skills that will divide the skilled vocational tourism management(hotel) professional course into knowledge, operation skills and mental function module, and design the four practice nodes, they are: the professional cognition,classroom training, skills contest and graduation practice.The aim of it to form the students’ metacognitive thinking, to improve students’ learning effect, and to cultivate the students metacognitive ability of analyze their advantages and disadvantages, making study plan and executing themselves, so as to complete the study of migration, causes the student to learn autonomously.Topic selected the "catering service and management" course, the skill at 2012 level for the implementation of students majoring in tourism management object, after skilled course design teaching, and compared the sample test result of curriculum design and implementation of the reform of the five-year 10 level of tourism management professional examination results, obtained the technical curriculum significantly improved the effect of data, to develop other skills tourism management professional course for the future design provides a train of thought.
