Globalization has brought upon, the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in mainland face more and more pressure in the changing global market environment. The main reason is the lack of advanced management ideology and models. In order to adapt to the uncertain external environment, SMEs should change the old and unreasonable management mode, explore own way of development. So business process reengineering based on ERP can be regarded as an effective way. Ningbo Changqi Porous Membrane Tech Ltd, referred to as CHANGQI in the following context, our sample for this study, operates in high-tech eco industry and mainly focuses on the production of Micro-filtration membrane used in air and water filtration. The global demand and potential market, especially in the United States and the Third world, for air and water filter products is substantial. However, following a booming of porous membrane suppliers in Southeast China, CHANGQI’s profit has been shrinking as a result of price war brought by domestic and foreign rivals. This is a challenge, but also opportunity for CHANGQI.First two chapters focus on the theories, principles and applied procedures of business process reorganization and ERP. Chapter three is the analytical part which states company background and existing issues in CHANGQI’s business process. This chapter also uses benchmarks to illustrate the necessity of process reorganization. Following the analysis, a suited proposal for CHANGQI is included. The famous Potter Model and Matrix analysis helps us to materialize the implementing solution that integrates all enterprise resources, upgrades operations and improves CHANGQI’s competitiveness. Finally, we designed post-reorganization operating solution for CHANGQI, and pointed out the effect of reorganization and necessary maintenance afterwards.Through a case study on CHANGQI, this article states that business process reorganization is the basis for applying ERP, and only when used simultaneously will these tools generate value for enterprise management. The information-based solution proposed here, offers constructive advice for SMEs that have failed in their past information innovations, and enlightens interested business owners to find their ways of process reorganization.
