Company G is a manufacturer in automobile manufacturing supply chain.The main business of Company G is to develop and produce automobile interior accessories.Its core technology involves plastic injection molding and surface decoration.With the expansion of its business recently,company G faced the growing operation information.Therefore,it began to pay attention to information integration and hoped to improve the company's information management level through Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP)system.However,the smooth implementation of the information system was delayed because they just focused on the hardware upgradation.This paper discussed the key points of information system implementation firstly.Then we found out the key problem of failed implementation,the missing of Business Process Re-engineering(BPR)stage,based on the investigation of company G.Next,we proposed a BPR model involving five factors of organization,function,limitation,source management and information technology to help enterprises to implement BPR.With these five factors,ten business processes in company G have been reengineered.This paper took “process of sales” as an example because of the article length limitation.Finally,a detailed comparison between the initial and reengineered sales processes,and the operation of the information system are demonstrated in this paper.This research can not only help company G to implement its ERP system successfully,but also guide to other enterprises focusing on implementing information system through BPR approach.
