Transportation and regional economy are interrelated and interdependent, and transportation superiority degree is a comprehensive index to evaluate the regional traffic network level. In this paper, the mathematical model, which can comprehensively evaluate the transportation superiority degree, will be built based on the following three indicators:the traffic network density, traffic artery influence degree and location advantage, with counties in Zhejiang province as an example, and years of2007and2012as two contrastive time points. The economic development level will be evaluated by three major economic indicators (including nine items), such as economic strength, industrial structure and people’s living standards; Finally, based on the comprehensive evaluation levels and the coupling and coordinating degree model in physics, the coupling and coordinating development between transportation superiority degree and regional economic development level of Zhejiang province will be researched empirically. In this research, Zhejiang province is divided into7coordinating types of areas, each type of area will be analyzed and the development countermeasures will be put forward to each type of area. Which can provide theoretical and practical guidance to promote good coordinated development of Zhejiang’s transportation and regional economy.Based on the research of this article, get the following conclusions:First,the difference about transportation advantage degree of various counties is obvious, show the phenomenon of spatial agglomeration and spatial correlation. Spatial pattern roughly shows gradually diminishing sphere shape distribution which takes the developed counties in the north as the core. With the gradually perfect of Zhejiang’s traffic network construction, Zhejiang’s traffic advantage degree improved slightly on the whole. But traffic construction of some counties is relatively backward, in the future the government should increase investment of traffic construction to improve the level of traffic network in these areas.Second,the difference about level of economic development is obvious in various counties of Zhejiang province,at the same time it shows spatial clustering phenomenon in underdeveloped regions, low-ranking regions are in Zhejiang southwest,economic strength is extremely imbalance, polarization is serious. The level of economic development in the north is higher than in the middle of Zhejiang and southern regions, the eastern coastal area is higher than the inland areas, industrial county is higher than the agricultural county, the level of economic development is higher in those countries which are near the municipal districts.Third,Through dynamic analysis of coupling and coordinating relations between transportation superiority degree and regional economy of Zhejiang province, it is found that the coupling degree between them is very high, the interaction is strong, but the coordinating degree differs significantly. Generally, the coordinating degree in the north of Zhejiang province is higher than that in central region and south of Zhejiang Province, while east coastal regions higher than that in inland regions. According to the classification standard of coordinating degree, in2007, mild incoordination, near incoordination and primary coordination types of areas are dominant ones. While in2012, near incoordination, primary coordination, intermediate coordination, and fine coordination types of areas are dominant ones. It is also found that the coordinating effect between transportation and regional economic development of counties in Zhejiang province has been improved fast in the recent five years, and the coordinating degree has changed from near incoordination to primary coordination.In the future, Zhejiang should learn from the development experience home and abroad, establish the correct development concept, and overcome the inter-regional contact obstacles through the optimization of traffic network, to build a modern transportation system in line with the economic development conditions of regional society. Based on the difference of the traffic level, economic base, location conditions, etc., the counties should establish different traffic and economic development strategies to realize benign coordinating development model of "the traffic promotes the economy, and the economy promotes the traffic". Especially in backward areas, it should achieve bi-directional promotion of traffic construction level and the level of regional economic development, which is very important for realizing the aim of the regional coordinated and balanced development of Zhejiang province.
