In recent years, highway and railway construction has realized leap-forward development in China, especially highways and high-speed rail. Due to geographical reasons,construction of the highway and railway cannot be separated from the tunnel construction.But because of environment of the tunnel construction is relatively complex, take cover engineering, regulatory difficulties. According to our country "highway tunnel construction technology standard" requirement, must will site monitoring measuring project on construction plans to guide the tunnel design and construction.In recent years, video surveillance technology has been widely applied to social security, urban transport etc. due to the development of computer technology and the improvement of image processing technology, whereas the application in the construction field is in its infancy, i.e. there is still a great space for development. Introducing the video surveillance technology into the construction field, helps to ensure tunnel construction safety and high efficiency propulsion, can not only bring economic benefits for the enterprise but also make it more convenient to supervise the construction quality for the government and public.In this paper, combining the video surveillance technology and engineering application, we designed a wireless intelligent video surveillance system according to the specific environment of tunnel construction plane.The system is capable of real-time monitoring of tunnel construction, and keep in touch with the monitoring center, so that the safety, quality and technology issues of construction can be found and disposed in time, while the realtime stored surveillance video can be used to investigate and analyze, is important for the safety and efficient of construction.This paper firstly analyze the specific environmental of tunnel plane to determine the design principle and objective of the system. When the environment of the tunnel is complex, adopting wireless monitoring without wiring is more desirable. Due to that the transmission of the uncompressed video data requires a large capacity transmission channel, an efficient compression algorithm must be used to achieve the wireless transmission of surveillance video. After comparing the characteristics of various compression standards,we select the most popular compression standard H.264;After comparing a variety of wireless transmission schemes, the wireless LAN transmission mode based on WiFi is selected. Real-time transport protocol(RTP) is adopted as the video compression data transmission protocol, and the use of the streaming media technology realizes the network access to the monitoring terminal as well as reading the surveillance video anytime and anywhere. Then the overall design of the system is determined by the completed subsystems.Then, we take ARM11 core processor and embedded Windows CE as the operating system according to the overall design of the system and compress the video obtained by CMOS camera according to H.264 and send it via WiFi module. After the video capture and wireless transmission program is realized from hardware, we then study the main content of the intelligent video analysis with the purpose of realizing the intelligent function of the system from algorithm.Finally, in order to achieve all functions of the video surveillance and intelligent analysis algorithms, we develop a monitoring software with MFC based on OpenCV and DirectShow.In this paper, the intelligent video surveillance technology is applied to the supervision of construction plane, which can improve the efficiency of workers and reduce construction costs under the premise of the project’s quality and safety. This work has certain practicability.
