Following the rapidly development of modern wireless communication, communication system especially in the mobile terminal are oriented towards small size, low weight, multi-bands. Antenna and passives are essential part of microwave and millimeter systems, multi-bands antenna and multi-functions passives are attracting more and more research and have rapid development. Substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), an emerging transmission structure like metal waveguide for microwave and millimeter waves, has recently been proposed. SIW can be fabricated by Printed Circuit Board (PCB) process and can easily be integrated with other planar circuit, which has many advantages including high power capacity, low loss, low radiation, and low cost, etc. Substrate integrated coaxial line (SICL) is similar with strip line that possesses advantages of wideband, no dispersivity and small size, etc.The works that constitute this thesis cover the following aspects:According to requirements of the IEEE802.11a/b/g standard, a SICL fed dielectric resonator (DR) double band monopole/DR antenna is designed. The double operation band can be independently changed by adjusting length of monopole or dimension of DR.Proposed power dividers (PD) and bandpass filters implemented with SIW technology. First of all, in order to overcome the disadvantage of narrow operating band of radial-cavity-type SIW power divider, a rectangular-cavity-type is proposed which can effectively expand operating band. Secondly, coaxial feeding networks has been somewhat limited to the planar circuit integration process, so a multi-layers SIW power divider is investigated. Finally, the two ways SIW power dividers in multi-way ports environment have a disadvantage of the device dimension increasing rapidly to the number of output ports; the four ways SIW power divider is proposed to solve the problem. The multilayer four ways SIW filtering power divider is also proposed to for further reduction of system dimension and cost.
