Modern information technology development is rapid, high integration, small volume is its development trend. Waveguide filter is also moving in this development, SIW(Substrate Integrated Waveguide) is a new media waveguide structure, easy and integrated planar structure, reducing the size of waveguide devices. Currently substrate integrated waveguide technology is people understand later, it left many theoretical issues need to be explored, of course, have to open up more areas of application.This article first studied the substrate integrated waveguide transmission characteristics and resonator coupling theory, followed by the first single cavity resonators and two chamber filter simulation and structural parameters were set to optimize the structure variables, respectively external quality factor and coupling coefficient of variation with structural variables. Then fold SIW proposed structure, and use HFSS to design a single chamber to four fold SIW cavity filter and get its S-parameter simulation map and found three chambers from single cavity to reduce its center frequency, bandwidth is relatively small, the insertion loss increases big-band rejection characteristics better. Finally, complementary split ring(CSRR) concept, design and simulation of four-chamber load CSRR SIW filter, under normal circumstances, the metal surface is etched CSRR in the same, but this time to get the four-chamber SIW oversized filter instead deficiencies exist. This could be in the upper and lower surfaces are etched metal CSRR, so not only can reduce the size of this four-cavity filter, but also to get good performance load CSRR of SIW filters.
