With the rapid development of animation industry and the social circles’ growing concern with children’s growth, animations for children are emerging in an endless stream. However, the animations that can truly move children rarely emerge. Role modeling is the critical factor that determines the quality of an animation. The author proposes that children’s true feeling and the demand of animations for children should be our primary concern, and that a role model of high affinity should be designed and created. In this way, children can get more fun from animations. From the perspective of aesthetic consciousness and cognitive characteristics of children, this thesis attempts to find a more suitable creation method for the role modeling in animations for children. The attempt is aimed at exploring children’s preference for role modeling and colors, and it is also aimed at creating the role modeling in animations which are more suitable for the aesthetic of children, more popular with children, and inspire children’s potential. By contrasting the similarities and differences of role modeling in animations for children at home and abroad, the thesis find out the problems existing in role modeling in animations for children. The thesis not only puts forward some ideas and suggestions concerning role modeling, but also put them into the actual practice of role modeling design in the animation named Green Stem Baby’s Fight against Worm Evils. Thus the thesis reaches the conclusion that only when we create the role modelings in animations which accord with the psychological state of children and make children interested, i.e. the role modelings which seem simple but have distinct personality and affinity, can we enable the animations for children to truly enter children’s world.
