Nowadays, the West are still emerging in a strong position. Sometimes, China like to chose overseas Chinese media to report some important events all over the world. More and more scholars think pay more attention to overseas Chinese media because of its contribution to the Discursive Power in the world of China.In view of this, the thesis discusses overseas Chinese media through a case study of Lianhe Zaobao of Singapore and Xingzhou Daily of Malaysia.The thesis aims to explore theoretical and practical significance of overseas Chinese media’s coverage on China and China’s international communication strategy and tactics.With an integrated approach of quantitative and qualitative research methodology, The content analysis in Lianhe Zaobao and Xingzhou Daily’s reports on “Occupy Central”.We further explain the journalistic attributes of overseas Chinese media in terms of news selection and news treatment. Then we try to prove overseas Chinese media’s effection in Discursive Power in The World from both Agenda-setting and Frame Theory aspects.In conclusion, Lianhe Zaobao’s core subject is “law”, they try to use Interpreting Framework. Xingzhou Daily’s core subject is “democracy”, they would to use the framework of confrontation. Overseas Chinese media’s reports on “Occupy Central” may subtly influenced by national interests and ideology. Therefore, We cannot be sure whether the overseas Chinese media can play an important role in molding the image of a country, to induct international public opinion, to enhance China’s voice in the world,the effect should be considered.But we should understand that we need to improve our Media Discourse Power, Academic Discourse Power and Folk Discourse Power.Due to time being limited, other methods is hoped to realize future.
