Over the past ten years of 21st century, we have been sticking to the scientific approach and the strategy of developing the country by relying on science and education, so as to promote the development of science and technology. In contrast, academic dishonorable behaviors like plagiarism, forging experimental data and submitting one same article to many publications have seriously debased standards of scientific conduct and to some extent hindered the development of technology.The whole society need to go into action. At present, the possible solutions mainly lie in three aspects, including regulating academic ethics education, establishing effective academic evaluation mechanisms and accelerating the academic construction, but seldom mentioning mass media that actually plays an important role in supervising academic dishonorable behaviors and affecting the public opinions. Also need to be noted is the emerging mass media forms like website media and handset media, which are proved not only to have offered effective channels for the public to express their opinions, but have made more and more people participate in the activities of supervising academic dishonorable behaviors. Due the reasons above, it is of great sense to make a research on the reports activities of the mass media about the academic dishonorable behaviors. This thesis features certain analysis of the 2000-2009 reports activities of‘China Youth Daily’, which proved to have played important roles in revealing and crack down on serious misconduct events happened in China. In addition, the research pointed out that bias by agenda existed in the agenda setting of academic misconducts, which helped mass media to supervise academic activities more effectively while weakening its another function of influencing the public opinions.Therefore at the end of the thesis, five solutions were put forward to help traditional paper media like‘China Youth Daily’to set an effective media agenda of the phenomenon of academic misconducts. First of all, mass media are expected to interact with both the public and the government effectively, so as to obtain useful information and influence the viewers. Secondly, mass media should increasingly focus on the agenda setting of academic misconducts, therefore to supervise academic activities more effectively. Thirdly, many more sources of information are needed. Fourthly, the phenomenon of academic misconducts needed to be fatherly researched under certain social background and historical background. The last but not least one is about the inter-media agenda-setting, which is also a decisive factor to the promotion effect of media’s report activities about academic misconducts.
