In the social media era, lifestyle, cognitive thinking, behavior of people, and every aspect of society is undergoing tremendous changes. At the same time, as a way of interpersonal communication and crystallization of traditional culture, ceremony is "re-ritualized". In social media environment, "re-ritualization" is a kind of "reproduction" of social space essentially. It inherits cultural norm, publicity and specific ceremony scene that formed by symbols in the traditional ceremony. The “new” ceremony also has new characteristics because of the interactivity, mobility and the crossing time and space in the social media. The "new" ceremony, which relies on social media, continues to squeeze out traditional ceremony and gradually becomes a fashion. Citing the interaction ceremony chain theory, this paper analyzes the dynamic mechanism behind the "new" ceremony—getting emotional energy. People create the ideal image of themselves and maintain social relationships by participating in the "new" ceremony, thus inquire the initiative of the next "new" ritual activities. As a means to maintain social order and national beliefs, it has a profound impact on individuals and society. In the social media era, the traditional ceremony is "re-ritualized" into "new" ritual.
