Gigabit Ethernet has the advantages of high transfer rate, higher compatibility and others. With the continuous development of network technology, Gigabit Ethernet cost reductions in all aspects, has gradually expanded the scope of application. Under Gigabit network conditions, using FPGA to achieve full hardware stack can save hardware costs and be applied to the network environment in different situations, as well as achieve the higher efficiency of the system.First of all, this paper introduces application of Gigabit Ethernet technology, and summarizes the relevant research at home and abroad in the front direction. Facing the Gigabit Ethernet broad application prospects, it designs Gigabit Ethernet data distribution platform based on FPGA. Then it elaborates the UDP, ARP, IGMP and other network protocol stack content and hardware implementation principle of network protocol stack. Adopting the external physical layer chip provides a FPGA solution for realizing hardware protocol stack. The focus of this paper is to use the VHDL programming language to carry out the code design of the hardware on the FPGA. Then it overviews the data distribution platform system, expounds the system running processes and system scale, and describe the specific functions and realization method of each module in the system in detail. Applied verification platform which adopts to Gigabit network in sending and receiving data, to verify support condition of the data distribution platform for UDP, ARP, IGMP. The paper has conducted the verification of the configuration download, data sorting and packaging,state reporting and other functions, and carried out test of transmission and receiving performance.In conclusion, this paper has designed FPGA-based Gigabit Ethernet data Dissemination platform which supports UDP, ARP, IGMP and other network protocols with reception, sorting, packaging, sending data dissemination and other functions. Equipped with the upper computer configuration software, the platform has realized the remote configuration of FPGA, which can provide real-time feedback of running states. In actual test, system can achieve the transmission rate 6000 Mbps and above, which can meet the performance requirements of Gigabit Ethernet high-speed transmission.
