The scale of Xinjiang new media development becomes larger and larger. Xinjiang has rich news resource. The splendid history and distinctive regional characteristics, provide support for Xinjiang new media platform. But it still faces some problems: the serious phenomenon of entertainment news. The main body of national identity interests diversification, thought of diversified values. Post modernism exacerbated the centrifugal force of national identity. Through the construction of the new media, to strengthen the cohesion of the people, the national identity is of great significance for peace and prosperity.The new media with the propagation characteristics of the network can enhance the effect of Journalism and communication, strengthen the centripetal force of the formation of national identity. In this paper, through the analysis of the WeChat platform "last kilometer" and micro-blog published the article "we are no longer silent", indicating the important role of new media in Xinjiang to strengthen the national identity and made outstanding achievements. And to explore the direction for the future development of new media in Xinjiang: on the one hand to strengthen the new media in accordance with the rules and characteristics of news narrative skills; strengthen the top-level design of national identity on the other hand, the construction of the new media team, improve national media literacy. Through the joint efforts of news professional team and all users, and actively build a new media platform, strengthen communication effect, strengthen national identity.
