The support from the display subsystem is necessary in most embedded system today.Besides, The LCDC(liquid crystal display controller) is the key component of the general display subsystem.The LCDC is the key component of display subsystem because of its high data throughput and high bandwidth utilization.On the other hand,system design using SystemC enables the system designers to optimize the architecture of system in the early period of system design. So the SystemC model of LCDC enables the designers to evaluate and optimize the architecture of the display subsystem which uses LCDC as the key component in the early period of the system design,thus guiding the hardware design of the display subsystem,which is of great significance to designing a high-performance display subsystem.This thesis focus on the system level design and verification of LCDC.First of all,the LCDC is divided into several submodules including the master module,the slave module,the data process module and the data output module on the basis of numerous research of LCDC and the work of all the submodules is analysized.On this base,the system level design of LCDC with SystemC is performanced.The LCDC model can support the screen of TFT and STN.Then the LCDC model is integrated into the system level simulation platform at the cycle-accurate level including ARM,system bus.memory and so on. Finally, the LCDC model is simulated and verified on the platform.The verification has two methods,the timing verification:the LCDC model is made to send the timing and data signal in TFT and STN mode and compared with the signal send by real LCDC to verify the correctness;another is the function verification:the LCDC model is made to send the data to a simulated screen,which is more intuitive.According to verification,the result is correct with both method.The LCDC model can be integrated into all the system level simulation platforms to perform the system level simulation of display subsystem and the evaluation and optimization of the architecture of display subsystem,which is of great importance to guiding the design of the hardware of the display subsystem.
