Our base mainly takes on the task of measure, control and communications of the satellites' launching. Most of devices are designed by ourselves and make great contributions in completing the tasks. But with the development of technology, the current system has some abuses, for example, the equipments are out of date, the apply level of technique is not good, and the connections between systems are not normative. Thus some problems like low efficiency, bad control and instable functions have a bad effect on the whole system. So we have no time to delay to rehandle the system. We try to find new theories and means to solve the current abuses while embedded system especially embedded Linux is studied abroad. Because embedded Linux systems have a good many of advantages such as developed platform, stabilization, low hardware base demanded, price free and so on, we study the key technology of embedded Linux realization and device drivers development on the platform of the Central Control and Display System of Timer (CCDST).The main task of this paper is to establish the theoretical foundation and realization of embedded real time Linux platform for the Central Control and Display System of Timer, and to program the device driver for Decode Board of Central Timer (DBCT) on this platform. This paper first summarizes the general situation of the embedded system, the Measure&Control System and the Central Control and Display System of Timer, describe the causes of choosing embedded Linux to rehandle the Timer System. Then it expatiates the theories to establish the embedded real time Linux on the platform of Central Control and Display System of Timer, and give the particular means to reduce the system and realize the real time capability. Then it introduces the key technology of device drivers and expatiates the means of programming Decode Board of Central Timer driver in the Linux. Then, it gives the expectation about the applications of establishing embedded Linux system and programming device drivers on the whole Measure&Control Communication System. At last, it introduces the new trend of programming device drivers.The conclusion of this paper is that the rehandling of the embedded real time Linux for the Central Control and Display System of Timer is effective, programming the driver of Decode Board of Central Timer is successful and achieving the expected aim. The theoretics and methods that formed during the process of rehandling the system are universal and rational, so we can apply them successfully on the rehandling of the whole Measure&Control Communication System.
