The disaster reports in the People’s Daily have experienced a long evolution process, this article from the contents, functions, characters and the tone of the reports four aspects analyzes the evolution process of disaster reports in the People’s Daily. After the80 s, the function became to inform information and to reflect.Since SARS period, the People’s Daily began to have the agenda-setting function. From the disaster characters, hero image in the cultural revolution and the early stage of the cultural revolution was equivalent with class hero.After 80 s, the heroic image transformed into the deified heroes. Reports in the wenchuan earthquake in 2008, the heroes started to turn into folk heroes. Before the wenchuan earthquake,the victims image appeared in the face of collectivization.After wenchuan earthquake,victims began to present a personalized tendency of image.
