As the most critical core module of SOC chip, CPU plays a decisive role in SOC.Eight-digit CPU can be used as the processor of chip and the co-processor of complex chip. Compared to other types of CPU, this eight-digit CPU is characterized by low power consumption and high execution efficiency.The research background of the proposed CPU is that currently the industry constantly improves the velocity of co-processor, in order to constantly increase the dominant frequency of CPU and meet the needs of mutual communication. Besides,current industry has increasing demand on low power consumption, so the high-speed low-power CPU is proposed according to requirements.In order to meet the market demands, this paper proposes a new high-speed system structure of eight-digit low-power CPU and a new verification technology. The CPU not only inherits the software and hardware development environment of original models, but also adopts the design of high-speed low-power CPU. This paper presents a new CPU core component ALU, which adopts asynchronous design, rather than original synchronous design. The proposed technology can effectively reduce the power consumption of the most important indicators of chip. Through simulation and flow sheet testing, it is found that the operation speed of asynchronous ALU design is superior than the original synchronization logic circuit in most test vectors, and EDA simulation results indicate that the power consumption is reduced.In view of the tricky CPU verification problem in project, this paper proposes a new UVM-based system-level VIP reuse verification platform, which combines the characteristics of SOC system with UVM verification method for extended application, expands the latest UVM verification technology in the industry and significantly improves verification efficiency and coverage rate.
