On May 8th, 2015, the State Council published the Made in China 2025, which deploys a tactic to make our country a manufacture giant. As one of the 5 projects for the whole tactic, intelligent manufacture asks for the digitization, networking and intelligence of production process and digital factory in major fields. Based on digital factory simulation technology, the design and simulation of air breaker assembly line in this paper have made the production process digital, networked and intelligent, which helps manufacturer assess the assembly line in advance in order to shorten the research cycle and decrease the cost.Firstly, the 3D model of air breaker assembly line was set up in the environment of digital factory simulation software. After studying of the actual assembly line parts, the model is divided into 3 parts. In the assembly part, robot and visual identity technology was applied into manufacture, which makes the production process intelligent. Besides, applying barcode scanners in assembly line helps track products and its parts and collect information of the production process, which make the remote management and networking possible.Assembly line balance is the key problem of the lean manufacturing. Based on the study of balance rate of assembly line, balance rate is adopt to access the performance of the design of assembly line in digital environment. Based on the access result, then the best design was obtained by using methods like time multiplexing to modify assembly line. This helps reduce excess capacity locally and maximize the produce performance.At last, actual performance of the design was verified by using the digital factory simulation software. Based on dynamic simulation, statistics and charts from the software, the productive process was improved and optimized with the calculation of balance rate, production efficiency and production cost in order to obtain an assembly line design that satisfy actual demands. Based on the design above, in order to assemble different kinds of products in different proportion, the motion route of the robot was reprogramed and an assembly line for two kinds of air breakers was obtained, which improves the flexibility of assembly line. Besides, considering the cost of assembly line, I figured out a way to help the robot change screwdriver, which decreases the number of robots, satisfies the flexibility of assembly line and cut down the cost of production equipment.
