Wireless sensor network(WSN) is a significant revolution in the information industry, and also, a research hotspot in the field of communications. With the development of science and technology, it will greatly change the way of communication between people, people and objects, making human society and nature a perceptible place, therefore bringing profound influence to human production and life style. Wireless sensor network is developing fast and already received wide attention. The critical factors to measure the performance of a wireless sensor network are communication distance, communication and networking performance, etc.This thesis designs a TinyOS sensor system suitable for IEEE802.15.4c standard. Through the system data collection from monitoring environments and long communication distance can be achieved. By analysing the system requirements, an overall design scheme using MSP430F5419 A as microcontroller, AT86RF212 as RF transceiver, SHT11 as temperature and humidity sensor, TSL2561 as light sensor and TR800 as gateway module is put forward, then the hardware design for every module in the sensor node is accomplished. By analysing the TinyOS transplantation, hardware abstraction architecture, programming conventions and the compiling process, the driver transplantation of every main module is realized. Finally through the system function test and performance test, it come to the conclusion that the sensor node this thesis designed can periodically collect sensor data, such as temperature, humidity and illumination intensity, and send the data to end user through GSM messages, multi-hop transmission and long distance communication between nodes can be reached.Through multiple tests and verification, proving the sensor node have various merits such as long communication distance, providing sms service and meanwhile, maitain a good communication and networking performance, can be used in multiple monitoring environments.
