Research And Compilation On The Guqin Literature In Tang Dynasty

Although the Qin music was declined seemingly, the books of Qin music account for a high proportion of the books of music in Tang Dynasty. These books not only record the theory and practice of Qin music but the related social cultural activities as well, which can be used as the basic materials for the studies on Qin music. Despite its extraordinary importance, is hard to gather a complete documentation for most of these books. This thesis try to study the basic issues related with these books of Qin music in Tang Dynasty, focusing on summarizing the general situations of these books, discussing the circulation and conservation of these books and fragmentary articles. It is hoped that our study can set up the base for future studies in the Qin music field.Besides the Introduction, the whole thesis is divided into two parts.The first part is an overall statement of the books of Qin music in Tang Dynasty, including the major changes and position of the documents in the history.The second part is the main body of this dissertation. Case studies are respectively carried out on 24 authors and 30 books. Every case study includes the following contents: the titles of books, authors, volume number, contents, etc. For some reasons that every book is complicated in many aspects, it is unnecessary to touch upon all the above points in each book study for us.
