The Research Of The Collected Works Of Tang Dynasty Recorded In Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu

You Mao’s Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu, Chao Gongwu’s Jun Zhai Du Shu Zhi and Chen Zhen Sun’s Zhi Zhai Shu Lu Jie Ti are called the biggest three bibliographicas of southern song dynasty. However, completed the others, the Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu is be looked down upon.Before, Yang Wang Li’s Cheng Zhai Ji and Jun Zhai Du Shu Zhi all have mentioned the Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu, but only referring to its postscripts or making a brief introduction or making a proof material. In modern,Cai Wen Jin’ Song Dai Cang Shu Jia You Mao and Zhang Lei’s You Mao Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu Xin Tan and so on, researching Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu except concrete concerns.Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu keeps an accout of about three thousands books, which outnumber most bibliographics. The bibliographic takes an important role in our country’s history, so we should make a detailed research on it.My article mainly study the bibliographic’s content of its recording method and its esxiting situation. In consideration of the large amount recording of the bibliographic recorded, I only study the part of collected works of Tang Dynasty.There are 268 kinds of collected works recorded in the book. Firstly, tagged the works’ versions through checking Zhong Guo Cong Shu Zong Lu and Zhong Guo Gu Ji Shan Ben Shu Mu formed a 70-thousands-words’ article which named Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu Tang Bie Ji Ban Ben Biao Zhu as the second part. Then, through subeject research which based on the second part formed the first part includes six sections:You Mao’s Life and Writings, The Position and Shortages of Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu, The recording method and Order of Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu, Concluding the Value of Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu by compared with others, The Summary of the Books Whether or not Exist and The conclusion.We can realize the pecious value of the bibliographic in supplementing historical data. Taking collected works of Tang Dynasty for example, what have recorded in the bibliographic included most poets in Tang Dynasty that can suppletment the historical data about the poets of Tang Dynasty. In the process of collecting data, I discovered that many works only can be found in Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu. I compared the Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu with Jun Zhai Du Shu Zhi, Zhi Zhai Shu Lu Jie Ti, Jiu Tang Shu Jing Ji Zhi, Xin Tang Shu Yi Wen Zhi and Song Shi Yi Wen Zhi in order to approve my discovery. Assurely, some works only recorded in the Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu.Some conlusions are drawn after my research:1. Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu makes a true reflection of the collected works of Song Dynasty;2. The works that recorded in the bibliographic are huge in quantity and high in quality.3. It’s the first bibliographic that marked version of the works.The bibliographic records 59 kinds of versions included many rare versions.4. Replenishing the data about collected works of Tang Dyansty in the recording of Liang Tang Zhi and Song Shi Yi Wen Zhi.5. The amout of the works recorded in the bibliographic is more than the amout of Jun Zhi Du Shu Zhi and Zhi Zhai Shu Lu Jie Ti.6. The works which only be found in Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu aboundant the information bank of collected works of Tang Dynasty.What a big value the recording of the collected works of Tang Dynsty in the bibliographic have produced! But that part of recording only occupy ten percent, we can easily know the great value the whole bibliographic can produce even it has some shortages. We should develop its big value through thoroughly and carefully research. I am very sorry that I can’t study the whole book because its large amout. If there will be have the chance I would futher improve my research on the collected works of Tang Dynasty and make the research of the whole recording of Sui Chu Tang Shu Mu.
