Studying How To Improve Public Service By Grassroots Archive Departmentstake The Archive Department In Wuzhong District Of Suzhou

The base archives department is an important part of the national administration system, with the further construction of the service-oriented government, requires further changes, including improving public services, and solving problems lying in the conception, approaches and demand of services, so as to continuously meet the people’s growing demand for archives. It has become an imminent requirement for grassroots archives department to realize the transition from serving government departments to serving the people.This paper is based on case study. After going through a large collection of relevant documents, I used the Archives Department of Wuzhong District, Suzhou City as an example, to analyze the achievements and problems in the grassroots archives department from various aspects, including the progressing of their work, the department construction and the requirements from the people. At the same time, this paper also contributed some suggestions to solve the existing problems.According to my research, there are four major problems existing in the grass-roots archives departments: gap between archival resources system and social development, between digitalization level of files and the speed of technological development, between file services and the needs of the people, and between the team building of archives and the requirement of the further development. Because of those problems, the archives departments have been restricted by file system operation, service system, personnel and other factors. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a sound system of archival resources, enhance the level of digitalization of archives, provide quality public services, develop various cultural products and accelerating team building, so as to actually enhance public service capacity of the grassroots archive departments.
