Guangzhou X Fuel Group is a subsidiary unit of Guangzhou X Group. Its main business contains the procurement, storage, transportation and marketing of fuel products, relying on the operational mode of "continuity, long cycle, full load" to obtain benefits. With continuous expansion of business, the group urgently need more efficient ways to achieve management reforming and efficiency improvement.As a solution to enhance the overall management level and efficiency, SAP ERP is a software product, as well as advanced management concepts and ideas. ERP systems apply modern information technology and management philosophy to enable highly unity of information flow, capital flow and logistics, which provide comprehensive, accurate and real-time monitoring analysis data for enterprise management decision-make as effective means and strong support.Guangzhou X Group ERP Phase I project successfully started in 2004. Based on relevance theory of device management and combined with the X Fuel Group’s actual situation, this paper studies the implementation process of ERP in the group and analysis the helpful role ERP played in improving device management. From an implementation effect point of view, this paper designs a set of effective solutions to resolve asset management, repair and maintenance management, preventive maintenance, device discarding and other issues appearing in device management of the group.This paper firstly introduces the background and main contents of thesis writing, expounding relevant theory of ERP and device management along with its application home and abroad; secondly, following the SAP implementation methodology, analysis of group device management situation and business requirement are made, several existing problems are proposed; thirdly, optimization suggestions are raised in the section of system design, with detailed introduction on business architecture, overall architecture and design process of function implementation; then in the section of system implementation and testing, background configurations for system implementation are listed and explained, introduction of processes on system testing and on-line switching are also made in this section; finally, the process of system implementation and paper writing are summarized, future development are prospected.The author participated in the entire implementation process of the device management module in the X Fuel Group’s ERP system:in blueprint stage is mainly responsible for finishing interview materials of users and flow comb; in the system implementation stage is mainly responsible for data collection and collation; in the system testing phase is mainly responsible for unit testing and defect eliminating.
