This paper mainly discusses the technology of wideband meteorological radar digital receiver, emphasis on sampling technology, pulse compression technology has made the detailed analysis and simulation.First of all, introduce the whole structure of radar receiver, in order to accord with the requirement of software radio, the characteristics of the input signal frequency, to design the high frequency band pass sampling digital receiver scheme, including sampling plan, low pass filter method orthogonal detection, and MATLAB simulation of these schemes.Second, discusses the theory of pulse compression and the conventional design, including the matched filter and the weighted side lobe suppression techniques are analyzed. In view of the defects in the conventional pulse compression, designed to improve the design of pulse compression. Draw a improved design scheme can more quickly processing the signal. And the improved design scheme of MATLAB simulation verify its feasibility.Finally, Given a design of hardware according to principle. Using XILINX Kintex-7 on FPGA KC705 evaluation board of XILINX company to design the hardware development of the digital receiver, including the using of ADC design and data preprocessing, low-pass filter method of orthogonal transformation module, improved pulse compression module and introduced and the design the gigabit networks.This article carried on the thorough research of radar pulse compression principle, design a broadband weather radar digital receiver based on FPGA, and gives the test results, results show that the design scheme is feasible, meet the design requirements.
